I decided to write a new blog as a New Year's resolution. I am a stay at home mom, a homemaker, or the CEO of home inc. Whatever it's name, being a mother is difficult and trying and I often find myself wishing I could share those tender moments with someone else. If anyone has ever read the color code test they will understand when I state I am a yellow and starting new things is my specialty. I love a new project or eating new food or trying new things, but keeping up with whatever I have started is a real challenge. anything from friends to chore charts keeps me feeling guilty knowing I won't be consistent enough to keep it going. I live in spurts. However, I want to be better and I crave it, so this is me trying to do something important and consistent.
As I started this blog I looked forever for a name that would exemplify motherhood. Needless to say, most of the best names were taken.  I was surprised to find the "the clean mom" available only because it is simple and easy to remember and can have so many different meanings. However, as a mom, I can see how mothers wouldn't want that name. literally, it is stating that you are THE clean mom, and who wants to state that, particularly when being a mom is one of the dirtiest jobs? With four children under six, I could spend my entire life cleaning. The irony is impeccable! Clean mom can also mean a clean freak and that is not what I am, although i have seen many women pull out the hand-sanitizer at every moment scared to death of germs. However, for me, I really love the word clean because it symbolizes much more than a scrubbed bathroom or freshly folded laundry. Clean means clear, spotless, open, white, organized, free from dirt, pollution, and other harmful substances. Clean isn't just about the tangible either, but the secular as well. I want to be clean both inside and out, spotless before God, my children and my husband. I know that perfection is unreachable in this world of imperfections, but can't I strive for something better? So, I have decided to use "the clean mom" because it states who I want to be, a mom who strives to clean the corners of her home in hopes that anyone who comes into my home feels welcome and comfortable. I want order and peace, joy and learning. so, in this blog I will share my life improvements in hopes that I can inspire others and myself to get closer to the clean.
